Children’s Theatre Classes

Perform Broadway favorites through movement! Explore the basics of musical theatre movement and dance, incorporating beginning levels of technique and coordination. Learn to tell a story through movements to music while including props and costumes to deepen the experience. Musicals include: Hamilton, Wicked, Little Shop of Horrors, Anything Goes, In the Heights, West Side Story and more. Instructor: Kelsey Griswold Paul

Dive deeper into the world of theatre and advanced acting skills.  Students build on their basic knowledge of theatre and refine their performance abilities.  In this class students discuss various topics including: plot, setting, character analysis, and character motivation. Students will perform various monologues and group scenes from different theatre genres while focusing energy on specific aspects of performance. Instructor: Brent Pedersen

Join the whimsical world of the performing arts.  This class explores the basics of theatre and different aspects of plays/musicals including a brief overview of the technical side of theatre.  The class consists of various acting and team building activities that will allows students to increase their knowledge of theatre, grow as a young actor, lose inhibitions, and gain trust in themselves and others in the group. Learn all there is to know about our upcoming fall productions, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr as well as helpful audition tips and tricks of the trade! This workshop looks briefly at the characters within the story and takes a sneak peek at what to expect during auditions. Whether it is your first time auditioning or are a seasoned actor, come join the fun! Instructor: Brent Pedersen
