Musical Theatre Workshop at FAI

by | Jun 20, 2019 | News

As you know, musicals are full of fun and extremely entertaining. They offer thrilling experiences for both the participants and the audience! Unfortunately, due to school budget cuts, often times educators are told that there are not enough resources or extra funds to support theatre in the schools. Here at FAI, we understand the importance of the arts and love offering children of all ages the opportunity to experience theatre in a way they never have before.

We use musical theatre to have fun and build confidence. Musical theatre can also be a great learning tool! Education and musical theatre go hand-in-hand and offer quite a partnership. Working on a musical production can help children learn reason, civility and responsibility. It also offers music, dance, tech and story reason. We understand the importance of musical theatre and we are excited about our upcoming musical theatre workshop: Annie: It’s a Hard Knock Life.

From the classic musical theatre production “Annie”, students will design their own props, learn choreography and perform the title orphan anthem “It’s a Hard Knock Life”. Performing Arts Director Brent Pedersen will be working with the students as well as a surprise choreographer within he Edmond/OKC musical theatre industry!
