Kids Painting & Drawing

Dog (or cat) Days of Summer. Artists learn how to create fun drawings and paintings of their pet or favorite animal.  A variety of materials will be used including: oil pastel, paint, chalk, and canvas.

A/B Art Camp: 9:00 – 12:00
Weekdays, K-5th grades

On virtual learning days, students spend 3 hours creating art taught by the  Art in Schools Program teachers at FAI .  Students rotate between instructors using a variety of mediums and exploring different elements of art. Select the day(s) that works best for your family. Classes and projects vary until traditional school resumes.  Enrollment requires a multiple week commitment, however refunds or credits will be issued if/when Edmond Public School classes are back in session.

Session 1:
August 24-September 30th
One day a week

Mondays: 5 weeks $180 (closed Labor Day, September 7)
Tuesdays:  6 weeks – $216
Wednesdays: 6 weeks – $216 (includes 1 hr of performing arts)
Thursdays – 5 weeks – $180
Fridays –  5 weeks – $180

Session 2:
October 1st – November 13th

By enrolling at the Edmond Fine Arts Institute, you accept all risk in attending in-person classes and agree to adhere to all social distancing and PPE use requirements while on the premises. Student and teacher safety is a top priority. All teachers and students are REQUIRED to wear face coverings. Study the art basics for the growth of the artist’s mind. Learn essentials of line, form, shading, shadow, perspective and portraiture. This class provides the basics necessary to develop an artistically strengthened mind. Instructor: Gary Lennon

Drawing is a way to express feelings and convey the world, especially in these changing times. Spend time drawing with artist Jennifer Cocoma Hustis and allow your spirit to flow through your drawings.  Techniques in different media are taught each week. Mixed media and collage drawings are explored.  Jennifer earned a Master’s Degree in Studio Art from Pratt Institute of Art in New York in two and three dimensional art.  She has shared her gifts of art through teaching all ages for almost 30 years.  Jennifer’s expressive large scale artworks can be found in museums, galleries and private collections. Come enjoy some time drawing and learning about yourself while you create.  Instructor: Jennifer Hustis

Art is an exciting adventure!  This year long curriculum is divided into 4 separate sessions and covers a variety of art disciplines. Come to one session, or continue year-round. Drawing, painting, printmaking, and 3D art is used to explore and create while gaining inspiration from the world around us.  A variety of new mediums and techniques will be explored each week. Study with Gary Lennon in a relaxed, friendly and supportive atmosphere. In this class students may use the medium and subject matter of their choice. With encouraging, one-on-one instruction techniques, Gary will help students rise to new levels of skill. Students of all artistic abilities are welcome…using pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolor, or acrylics. This class is for students who have completed “Beginning Art” with Gary.

Join us for Fall Break “Art Escape Camp”..Drawing, painting, clay, mixed media and more.  Four rotations of art each day will allow children to work with FAI faculty in a creative environment.  New projects will be offered each day. Come enjoy one day, two days or all three! Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day.
