Adult Clay & Pottery Classes
Learn the fundamentals of working with clay and glazes. Wheel throwing, hand building and mold pouring through instructor demonstrations and one on one instruction is provided. Learn advanced decoration techniques, experiment with carving, template design transfer, wax resist, glaze layering, spray on glazing and painting with glaze. Combine beautiful form with everyday functionality. Finished pieces are food safe, oven safe, microwave and dishwasher safe. Already have experience with clay? Come in for some studio time to sharpen those skills. Instructor: Tracy Wilmes

Experience the calming art of ceramics in a class for all skill levels. This class covers everything from the wheel to building techniques. All materials will be included. Instructor: Fatima Mohamud

Class Procedures:
Enrollment is limited to a maximum of 8 students in a class to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Proper spacing will be easily identified in all areas.
Students will be provided with hand sanitizer upon entering the building, and available in all classrooms.
Surfaces and supplies will be cleaned and sanitized with FDA approved sanitizer at regular intervals throughout the day.

Already have experience with clay? This student driven class provides personal studio time, without an instructor to practice pottery skills. Use the wheel or work using slab techniques on your own time. All materials will be included. All completed pieces will be fired on site. Please note: The FAI is trying to minimize the number of students in our building at this time for safety and health reasons. All studio time ceramic students are asked to please use the ceramics room during the designated time of their class.
