The artist and creator of “The Art of a Cowboy” documentary series, Steve Boaldin, teaches the techniques he has mastered throughout his career. Learn the tricks and tools he uses to achieve realistic art with oil paints, acrylic, mixed media, and pencils. Beginning to advanced students are welcome to create alongside this well-known Oklahoma artist. More about Steve, his artwork and TV show can be seen at www.artofacowboy.com. Fall 1
Mondays: 6:00 – 8:00 (5 weeks)

Supply List:
  • -Idea of a subject that you would like to work on
  • -Hot Press Watercolor Paper (at least 12″x16″ size)
  • -Prisma Colored Pencils colors: black, white, serilium blue, terra cotta, canary red, orange, yellow
  • -Watercolor Set (small or large)
  • -Watercolor Brushes “Sable” size 8 or 6 and a size 2
  • Oil Paints colors: black, paynes gray, titanium white, cad. yellow light, cad. red light, yellow okra, burnt sienna, serilium blue, ultra marine blue
  • Mineral spirits & container (to clean brushes)
  • Liquin original
  • Liquin fine detail
  • Acrylic paints
  • Small plastic containers
  • Paper palette (for mixing)
  • Small palette knife
  • Canvas (may wait until after the first class)
  • Basic oil brushes
