Children's Classes & Programs
ALL STUDENTS (INCLUDING RETURN STUDENTS) ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR A CLASS PRIOR TO EACH NEW CLASS SESSION.
Materials: The Institute provides all materials unless indicated in the class description.
Tuition: TUITION DUE UPON ENROLLMENT. We accept checks, cash, Visa or Mastercard. Only after payment is received, is enrollment guaranteed. Enrolled students are expected to attend all classes. No makeup classes are offered for student absences. Class tuition will not be prorated. A $25 service fee will be charged for returned checks. Occasionally, an instructor might have an emergency and must miss class. Should this occur, the instructor will make up the class at an alternate time convenient for the instructor and students. FAI reserves the right to substitute instructors and students will be notified if time allows.
Refunds: A refund or credit (minus $10 administrative fee) will be issued if the student drops the class three working days prior to the first class. All FAI classes are based on a minimum of 5 students. Should the class not reach the minimum of 5 students, the FAI reserves the right to cancel the class and all students receive a full refund or credit.
Discount: A $100 membership to the Fine Arts Institute allows students a 10% discount on classes. Join today!
Students may be dropped off no more than 5 minutes prior to class. Please pick your child up promptly. Thank you for your cooperation.

Art Adventures with Karlene
Grades/Ages: 4-6 years
With a focus on FUN and ENCOURAGEMENT in this ongoing class, your child will learn art terms and be introduced to famous and local artists. We'll use a variety of professional art medium and concepts.
Fall I projects: shading with soft pastels, Kandinsky Oil Pastel, 3-D Chihuly mixed media projects, Avercamp watercolor, and Guyotaku paint technique. Fall II projects: Cassat portraits, mixed media collage, Van Gogh impasto, clay wind chimes, and symmetry with watercolors.

Beginning Art for Beginning Artists
Grades/Ages: 4 & 5 years
Explore art with Mimi. This will be a class of small projects suitable for budding artists. Students will paint, draw, use modeling clay, create collages, weave and enjoy puppet making. The class will continue all year with new projects each session.

Toddler Mommy & Me Art Class
Grades/Ages: Mom & 18 months - 36 months
Join Miss Amanda for a fun sensory experience with your toddler! We'll sing, dance, paint, draw and read a fun story as you create a collaborative art project together. Fall I includes things that are warm, soft, hard, round, go moo, quack and oink and that make music. Fall II includes my favorite color, head to toe, things that are squishy, and grow and apples and bananas. Be prepared to get messy and let your child experience different media. And remember: art is a process at this age, not a final product. Please make this a special one-on-one time with your child; no older or younger siblings please.

SmART is a class designed for home schooled students who want to enhance their knowledge of art by rolling up their sleeves and jumping in. Each 6 week session offers a variety of art exploration including: painting, clay, drawing, mixed media and art history. Students can participate all year long without repeating projects and building on the elements and principles of design. A creative studio setting based on the student's individual growth in art. Budding artists can develop their own styles and explore new mediums. This class is for students who have taken a class from Gary previously.

Photography
Frame It & Shoot It
Grades/Ages: 8 years and up
Take photographs like a pro! Come have fun while learning simple photography rules the pros use. You will become a better photographer with your digital camera. Students will learn about lighting, framing, the rule of thirds, and simple composition techniques. We will print our own photos during class. Bring a pocket folder to class to store your photos in. Digital cameras only or disposable digital cameras.
